Our Story
Built on Craft, Driven by Innovation
Tat Meng Carpentry Works was established in 2001 as a small workshop serving Singapore homeowners looking for carpentry beyond the standard catalog options available through most property-developer packages.
Over two decades, we have grown from a one-workshop operation into a full-service carpentry studio with our own fabrication facilities, design team, and installation crews. What has not changed is our approach: every project starts with understanding the space and the homeowner before any material is selected or design work begins.
We commission furniture that works as hard as you do, looks better every year as materials develop their patina, and fits so precisely that it feels like the room was designed around it from the start -- which, in effect, it is.

Our Commitment to Quality
Precision Over Speed
We prioritize accuracy in every measurement, cut, and joint. Our installation tolerances are within 1mm across all surfaces, ensuring cabinetry sits flush and doors operate smoothly for decades.
Material Integrity
All our substrates use E0 or E1-grade engineered wood. Hardware components come from Hettich, Blum, or equivalent European brands rated for minimum 200,000 cycles of operation.
Transparent Pricing
Every proposal itemizes material costs, hardware specifications, and labor separately. No hidden escalation clauses, no vague "miscellaneous" charges. You know exactly what you are paying for before we cut a single board.
Design Ownership Transfer
All drawings, 3D models, and finish specifications developed during your project become yours upon final payment. No licensing holds preventing future maintenance or modifications by any qualified carpenter.
After-Service Warranty
Every installation carries a minimum 12-month warranty on joinery integrity and hardware function. Extended warranty packages available up to 5 years covering material defects and adjustment needs.
Wet Works Coordination
We do not install furniture onto unprepared surfaces. Every project includes site preparation verification of flatness tolerance, moisture content readings, and waterproofing inspection where relevant.

What is specified in your proposal is what arrives at your home. We maintain stock from our quoted suppliers for every project currently in production.
